Unit Duration: This unit is designed to be completed up to 70 weeks (including holidays)

 

Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend up to 1,631 hours excluding holidays, depending on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.

REQUIREMENTS & PATHWAYS

There are no pre-requisites to enter this training program. However, MA INSTITUTE OF HAIR AND BEAUTY OF HAIR & BEAUTY also screens learners according to the following criteria:

 

  • Must be 15 years or older,

  • Have successfully completed at least Australian high school year 10, or equivalent

  • Have basic computer skills

  • Have sound Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills

 

*Learners who do not meet the LLN requirements of the course may still enroll into the course provided the enrolment has been endorsed by the trainer and corresponding additional support strategies have been put in place.

 

Students who finish this qualification may choose to pursue further studies in a wide range of qualifications, such as:

 

  • SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing

  • SHB40216 Certificate IV in Hairdressing*

  • SHB50216 Diploma of Salon Management*

  • SHB60118 Advanced Diploma of Intense Pulsed Light and Laser for Hair Reduction*

  • SHB80116 Graduate Certificate in Hairdressing Creative Leadership*

*Currently not being offered by MA Institute of Hair and Beauty of Hair and Beauty

On completion, candidates will be competent to provide the following services including;

  • Manicure & Pedicure

  • Eyelash & Brow treatments

  • Design & apply Make-Up

  • Waxing & Tinting

  • Facial treatments

  • Anatomy and physiology of the skin and body

OUTCOME

Graduates will be competent to apply substantial skills and knowledge to areas such as planning, selecting appropriate services and techniques and managing clients and/ or a Salon. Candidates can choose from many career options including;

  • Beauty Salon Owner

  • Freelance Beauty Therapist

FEES & HOURS REQUIRED

Total Course Fee $17,900

 

Initial deposit of $1,500.00 to be paid upfront upon enrolment. Remaining balance to be paid through instalments of $257 per week for 64 weeks and remaining $48 on 65th week.
